Man charged with murder in deadly Lancaster shooting; victim identified

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — The suspect and victim in a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday afternoon in Lancaster have been identified, the county coroner said Thursday in a news release.

The shooting occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Willow Lake Road.

Police said they found Troy Moore, of Lancaster, 42, with a gunshot wound lying in the roadway. He was then taken to an area hospital, where he died.

Gregory Scott Coleman, 52 of Lancaster, was charged with murder and is being held without bond at the Lancaster County Detention Center.

The Lancaster Police Department is investigating the homicide and a forensic autopsy has been scheduled, the coroner said.
