STATESVILLE, N.C. — One person is dead following a fire at a campground in Statesville late Monday night, authorities said.
The Iredell County fire marshal and the State Bureau of Investigation were both called in to investigate, but officials with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said initial reports do not indicate that the fire was intentionally set.
The fire involved a trailer at the Real McCoy Family Campground, along the 200 block of Log Drive.
The person who died has not been identified. The body has been sent to the local coroner for an autopsy.
