One dead in crash on I-85 in Gaston County, EMS officials say

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — One lane one Interstate 85 in Gaston was blocked Monday morning as state troopers investigated a fatal crash.

The wreck happened before 7 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-85 near McAdenville (Exit 23).

Gaston EMS officials confirmed that one person had died in the crash but no other details have been released.

One northbound lane was blocked and traffic was backing up to U.S. 321.
