LAKE NORMAN — Police on Lake Norman are looking to the Marine Commission to help with a noisy and dangerous problem.
The sandbar on Lake Norman is an area where boats regularly stop and congregate.
Police said on an average weekend this summer, anywhere from 100 to 250 boats gathered at there.
The crowds are a violation of a Lake Commission ordinance that only allows 11 boats to congregate in the area.
Officers had to respond to emergencies at the crowded sandbar as well as field noise complaints from neighbors.
On Eyewitness News at 6, learn how officers have made the area safer and how upcoming actions from the Lake Norman Marine Commission will bring about some major changes.
