Officials said they’ve hit a dead end while trying to find the person who gave Polly Rogers alcohol before she fell from the bus and was hit and killed by two cars.

An autopsy revealed Rogers was drunk with a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

Rogers was only 20, so she could not have legally obtained her own alcohol. Investigators said they found her fake ID on scene.

ABC Police Chief Mike Crowley said his investigators traced her activity that night.

“We're dealing with 18 to 21-year-old college students, and they’re just not going to tell on each other,” Crowley said. “Some had attorneys that advised them not to talk.”

They interviewed more than 20 people who were on the party bus, on campus or at a party that night.

"We're at a dead end," Crowley said.

Crowley said they will never close the case and if they ever find the person, the charge would be a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to someone under 21.

The UNC Charlotte fraternity that chartered the party bus was suspended.

Police cited the party bus company for not having insurance and having the wrong tag on it.
