Officer Dwight Marshall was coming back into town on Saturday night when the crash happened. He was taken to the McLeod Trauma Center in Florence, South Carolina.
He died on Monday.
“The Town of Cheraw has lost one of its youngest and brightest stars. To all that knew him, and who have ever met him, you can understand why I say that Dwight just somehow made your day better when you talked to him. His humble smile, his gentle and steady positive nature just made the room feel better,” Chief Julius K. Riley said.
