A total of 50 other K-9s from across the country received a smaller amount of prize money in the contest, but he’s the only K-9 from the Carolinas to win.
Joker’s handler, Officer Jason, said the money will help fund the K-9 unit in the department, which largely relies on donations.
The three other winners came from police departments in Oregon, West Virginia and Illinois.
