Northwestern HS student arrested for bringing BB gun to school, Rock Hill police say

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A high school student admitted he brought a BB gun Thursday to his school in Rock Hill, Channel 9's partner, The Herald, reported.

A Northwestern High School assistant principal told a school resource officer around 10:20 a.m. that a student had a weapon, a Rock Hill police report said.

The officer searched the student’s backpack and found the BB gun, gas canisters and BB's, according to the report.

The student was charged with carrying a weapon on school property. He was released to his mother.

The same school officer arrested another student about three hours later for fighting in the cafeteria.

The student was charged with third-degree assault and battery, a report said. The student was released to his guardian.
