YORK COUNTY, S.C. — While last-minute shoppers bustled around York County, 22 people held their positions for 22 hours to raise awareness about veteran suicides.
A nonprofit, the Country of Angels, say they are dedicated to veteran suicide awareness and prevention in York County.
The group said 22 veterans take their own lives every day in the United States.
"There's 8,030 stars, 8,030 veterans that will take their lives every single year,” said Megan Hullet, CEO and founder of the Country of Angels.
