CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities said nobody was injured when an ambulance crashed and ended up on its roof in a ditch in east Charlotte Thursday morning.
The crash happened just before 8:45 a.m. on Camp Stewart Road, near Interstate 485 as the MEDIC ambulance was responding to a 911 call in the Mint Hill area, officials said.
Authorities told Channel 9 that no patients were in the ambulance when it wrecked and that the two MEDIC employees inside were not injured. They were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
It is still unclear what caused the ambulance to crash, and police, as well as MEDIC, are investigating the accident.
