No one hurt after fire rips through building in Albemarle, officials say

ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Firefighters in Albemarle were put to work Saturday night.

Crews with the Albemarle Fire Department worked to put out a building fire around 7:30 p.m. on Aquadale Road. When they arrived, they could see heavy smoke and flames through the roof.

The building received extensive damage as a result of the fire. No one was hurt, according to fire officials.

It is unknown what caused the fire, as an investigation is ongoing.
