YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Nobody was hurt after a violent crash involving a fire truck and a semi on Sunday morning along Interstate 77 in York County.
Officials said the tractor-trailer collided with a fire truck in the southbound lanes of I-77 before sunrise.
The fire department had been working to clear an unrelated accident when the tractor-trailer hit it as it drove passed.
Fire officials said the crash serves as a reminder for everyone to move over when you see emergency crews on the road.
Many ask why we always post to “MOVE OVER” when you approach our scenes. Last night is an example why. Overnight a Flint Hill Fire Engine was struck by a passing tractor trailer as they worked an unrelated MVC on I-77. Miraculously no first responders were injured. #MoveOver #I77 pic.twitter.com/NkBCNLrQn1
