CHARLOTTE — Family members are searching for closure after Lashunda Shmicka McLendon was gunned down last Friday in a south Charlotte parking lot.
Channel 9 reported when Ebonee Rahman was accused of killing the 42-year-old mother on Archdale Drive, near Nations Ford Road.
Loved ones believe someone else needs to be held accountable.

Court documents say the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was called to the Archdale Mini Mart for an assault with a deadly weapon call on Dec. 13.
They spoke with Rahman and McLendon. Police radio describes what happened next:
“Basically, the suspect pointed a firearm at our victim and communicated a threat. She had an extraditable warrant out of South Carolina, and we took her downtown.”
According to other radio calls, officers brought Rahman back to the same place she allegedly threatened McLendon.
An affidavit said Rahman was seen on video confronting McLendon before taking a gun from an unknown man’s jacket and firing the shot that killed her. Rahman was arrested for murder, but McLendon’s family wants the man who Rahman grabbed a gun from to also be held accountable.
“The person who had the gun is still out there and that’s not right,” family members told Channel 9.
“There’s no closure because, if it was just her there would be closure, but with him still out there is no closure,” Latara Rushing, McLendon’s daughter, said.
We asked CMPD if that man is a person of interest and they said they couldn’t share any other details.
According to a GoFundMe campaign, McLendon’s funeral will take place on Dec. 21.
Rahman is now facing charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The shooting happened in an area that has seen violent crime recently.
Earlier this month, police said a 25-year-old man was shot and killed just half a mile down the road on Archdale Drive. And back in May, police responded to the same area after two people were seriously hurt in a shooting.
Police said none of those shootings are related, but witnesses feel more needs to be done.
“I would like police and detectives to check the area more often because I see a lot of groups of people,” Paula Gonzales told Channel 9′s Hunter Sáenz.
