New-to-market pizza restaurant set to open in Plaza Midwood

CHARLOTTE — Emmy Squared Pizza is ready for its Charlotte debut.

The Brooklyn, New York-based brand will open its first 4,800-square-foot restaurant on Sept. 9 at 1508 Central Ave.

Emily Hyland, founder and partner, says she was drawn to the Plaza Midwood neighborhood’s Brooklyn vibe. She says to expect good food, good music and good vibes in a casual setting.

“At our heart, we’re a neighborhood restaurant,” she says.

Hyland recently moved to South End — where a second Emmy Squared location is in the works — from New York City.
