TENNESSEE — A 9-year-old girl from Tennessee who is the subject of an Amber Alert is seen in newly released surveillance video.
Police said the girl, Carlie Trent, is believed to have been kidnapped by her uncle, Gary Simpson.
The video captured two people who appear to be Carlie and Simpson at a Rogersville, Tennessee, Save-A-Lot store. Police said it's their last known sighting.
Channel 9 reporter Dave Faherty is with North Carolina authorities and will have more on the possibility the pair could be in or heading to the area, on Eyewitness News at 5 p.m.
Another video was released Tuesday of Carlie playing with her dad’s cellphone. Investigators said they hope it will help lead to someone finding the girl.
The Tennessee Amber Alert has been extended to Missouri after officials said there was a possible sighting in Otterville Monday, WATE reported.
Investigators said Carlie Trent's uncle took her out of school without permission Wednesday.
Gary Simpson, 57, does not have any custodial rights and he is believed to be driving a white Dodge Caravan with a dark stripe down the middle and Tennessee plates 173-GPS.
Carlie was last seen wearing a black and gray tank top and blue jeans. Simpson was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark-colored shirt and jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or call the Rogersville, TN Police Department at 423-272-7555.
