CHARLOTTE — A new violence interrupter program in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County will focus on mentorships, conflict mediation and counseling for victims of gun violence to help keep people safe in the area.

The Youth Advocate Program will tackle four crime hot spots across Charlotte, including:
- Beatties Ford Road and Lasalle Street
- West Sugar Creek at Interstate 85
- Nations Ford and Arrowood roads
- Central Avenue and Sharon Amity Road
