CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Eastland Mall site, which has sat vacant for years, hosted a new shopping experience Saturday with the debut of the Charlotte Open Air Market.
The multi-culture market offered arts and crafts, clothing and sweet treats.
The market is a temporary solution in the discussion about what to put on the site.
“It's a community involvement. It's a way to get the community out, get involved and communicate with each other, you know, just to be build community in a sense,” Theodore Williams, the market’s co-owner, said.
The open air market is open every Saturday and Sunday.
