The college lost accreditation in 2004 after defaulting on a federal loan.

The government cut off financial aid and the college lost its way.

Leaders are discussing how to rejuvenate the building to better serve the community.

“It marks a new era in this effort to see Barber Scotia shine again,” said Melvin Douglass, president of Barber Scotia College.
