The Hanesbrands Board of Directors has approved the appointment of a former Walmart executive as the company’s new CEO.
Stephen B. Bratspies, 52, will succeed Gerald W. Evans Jr., effective Aug. 3. Bratspies was Walmart’s chief marketing officer before leaving the company in January. Bratspies is expected to join the company’s board of directors once he comes to the company.
Evans announced in Marchhis plans to retire in January 2021 at the end of the fiscal year. He will oversee the leadership transition until August and remain as an advisor to the company through 2021.
