CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Neighbors are worried after they said a man tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl Saturday from a north Charlotte neighborhood.

Officers told Channel 9's Tina Terry a 15-year-old was walking on Elementary View Drive near Bronzeleaf Way in the Hucks Landing neighborhood when she said someone in a white van tried to abduct her.
Neighbors said the girl was able to get away and ran until she found a group of children. Adults helped her call 911.
Detectives assigned the case to the Crimes Against Children Division, but said they are having a hard time finding the man because they don't have a tag number for the vehicle.

Neighbors are shocked and said they hope he's found soon.
"Here in this subdivision, I would say I'm pretty surprised, but we do have a lot of kids roaming around this neighborhood," said resident Travis Loyd.
Anyone that lives in Hucks Landing with video cameras on their property is asked to check for a white van in the area between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday.
One neighbor sent Channel 9 video that shows a white Dodge or Chrysler van headed down the street at 4:57 p.m. Saturday right where the incident happened.
We’ve sent that video to police.
