WELDON, N.C. — A toddler was killed after being shot in the head during a drive-by shooting Thursday night in Halifax County.
Officers said the boy was inside a home on Elm Street, near the town of Weldon, around 8 p.m. when someone drove by and sprayed the house with bullets.
The boy died at the hospital. He would have turned 2 on Dec. 23.
Police do not have any suspects or released a motive in the shooting.
The SBI has been called in to help investigate.
