CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina service dog got to cross something off her bucket list Friday after being given just months left to live, WCTI reported.
The 10-year-old pit bull’s name is Jasmine, and her family said she was recently diagnosed with cancer and has had plasma and blood transfusions.
A veterinarian said Jasmine only had one to three months to live, so the family decided to give back to the Craven County Animal Shelter in her honor.
“This was on her bucket list ... to donate some of her toys to needy animals,” said Tara Cassity, Jasmine’s owner. “She’s my service dog that I have; she’s trained for me. She’s led a very adventurous life.”
Jasmine’s family donated treats and toys to the cats and dogs at the animal shelter.
