BURLINGTON, N.C. — A North Carolina girl fighting a terminal illness has a new support dog, after someone stole hers.
About three weeks ago, somebody broke into her home and stole her support dog while she and her family were out celebrating her mother’s birthday.

After hearing her story, several people donated money to get her a new dog.
The young girl is undergoing radiation therapy for a brain tumor.
"She's going through a lot. She started radiation yesterday so it's nice to come home and have a cute little face to play with," said her mother Shala Browning.
Doctors originally said she had 3 months to live, but with the chemo, she's now lived more than a year.
