DURHAM, N.C. — A North Carolina company has joined the fight against coronavirus and is working to develop a vaccine using a plant source.
Medicago USA in Durham says in 20 days, it developed the anti-bodies to fight the virus.
It would use plants grown in a greenhouse. They are then submerged in DNA to combat the virus.
This isn’t the company’s first big effort. In 2009, it produced a research grade vaccine for the Swine Flu.
In 2015, they made an anti-body cocktail for the fight against Ebola.
