NC bills would end single-family zoning statewide

CHARLOTTE — Single-family zoning isn’t just an issue in the 2040 plan being considered by city leaders in Charlotte — it’s also the focus of a pair of bills filed in the state legislature that would do away with that designation.

The USA Today Network recently reported on House Bill 401 and Senate Bill 349, which would allow so-called “middle housing” in any neighborhood zoned for detached, single-family homes.
