CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NBA All-Star Game festivities are now going to help struggling students in Charlotte.
Team LeBron is giving $350,000 to a local charity called the Right Moves for Youth.
Tayuanee Dewberry and a group of CMS students watched the game on the court next to LeBron’s bench, because he chose to play for their charity.

“We love Steph. He’s a local native, and we’re always rooting for Kemba but not this time,” Dewberry with the Right Moves for Youth said.
After LeBron's team beat the local stars, Dewberry and her students flooded onto the court to thank him for giving the group the $350,000 he just won.
Channel 9 learned that money will allow the charity to help 100 more students like Makii Arline.
“I’ve gone through some tough times over the years, and I haven’t had a lot of support,” Arline said. “Coming into the organization and having so many people tell me they believe in me and that my voice is important and that the things I have to say are things the world needs to hear have empowered me so much."

The charity helps students from overlooked and underserved neighborhoods succeed in school and prepare for their future.
Dewberry said the $350,000 gift is an investment in these students, but it's also an investment in the future of the city.
“This has been an unbelievable experience. A once in a lifetime experience and a gift that will impact Charlotte for years to come,” Dewberry said.
This isn’t the only charity getting a boost. The losing team, Team Giannis, is also giving its winnings of $150,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
