CHARLOTTE — The operations home for NASCAR Productions is officially on the move.

NASCAR on Wednesday formally announced plans to open a new facility in Concord to house its productions team. NASCAR Productions, which is the racing league’s television and video production division, is currently operating out of 550 South in uptown Charlotte. The Charlotte Business Journal first reported in May that the move was under consideration.

Concord City Council approved incentives for the NASCAR Productions project on May 12. The project calls for the construction of a 58,000-square-foot facility that would neighbor NASCAR’s existing research and development center at West Winds Business Park. A groundbreaking for the facility is expected to be held on Aug. 31, and NASCAR plans to open it in time for the 2024 season.
