CONCORD, N.C. — NASCAR partnered with local schools to turn the Charlotte Motor Speedway into a classroom at the Coca-Cola 600 race over Memorial Day weekend.

Sixth-grader Alexa Miranda and her classmates are teaching other kids about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, also known as S.T.E.A.M.

“It’s great for the future,” said Miranda, a freshman at Mountain Island Charter School. “Great for right now -- just having fun doing it.”

In the video at the top of this webpage, Channel 9′s Anthony Kustura was at the STEAM Expo and shows how the partnership is inspiring future generations.
