Myrtle Beach pushes back against claims of dirty hotels

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The city of Myrtle Beach has pushed back against claims of dirty hotels.

This comes after a report ranked South Carolina as the third-dirtiest state in the country when it comes to hotels. It also found that Myrtle Beach had the highest number of dirty hotel reviews in the state.

Myrtle Beach’s Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau reviewed the report and told Channel 9 it cannot vouch for those findings.

Upgraded Points said it put together the rankings by searching through Tripadvisor reviews for key words including “dirty” and “bugs.”

Myrtle Beach pushed back, noting that it has routinely won Tripadvisor awards and attracts millions of visitors each year.
