CHARLOTTE — A local boy’s dream came true over the weekend after he got to spend two days with the Charlotte FC team and play with the pros.
Nolan has a rare condition called primary immunodeficiency disorder, which impairs his immune system, causing him to get very sick from infections.
Nolan’s positive attitude earned him the nickname “Happy Boy” and with help from Charlotte FC, a local nonprofit was able to make his dream to be on the pitch with professional players come true.
Dream on 3 planned a two-day schedule for Nolan to spend time at practice and spend time in the players tunnel before the players took to the field. Nolan’s dream weekend was sponsored by NARI Charlotte.

Nolan was the honorary captain for the Charlotte FC match against Inter Miami CF. The team walked away with a 1-0 win with a goal in the 68th minute by Brazilian forward Andre Shinyashiki and an assist by Yordy Reyna.
Aside from his time with the players, Nolan got more VIP treatment off the pitch. Dream on 3 took him to play Topgolf and out for some pizza.
Nolan said his time with the team lived up to his expectations.
“Today was an amazing day. I got to hang out on the big field with the pro soccer players. My dream came true,” said Nolan.
Dream on 3 granted two other dreams this week, sending one family to the PGA Wells Fargo Championship and another to the Kentucky Derby.
