MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. — The North Carolina Medical Board summarily suspended a Mount Holly doctor’s license after he was accused of having sex with two female patients.
Medical board records show that Dr. Michael Smith practiced family medicine at a solo practice on Catawba Avenue.
Smith is accused of having sexual contact with two female patients in medical exam rooms, according to state medical board documents obtained by Channel 9.
The documents say that Smith was giving both patients prescriptions for mental health disorders.
The North Carolina Medical Board said it took emergency action on Tuesday and suspended his license.
Channel 9 called Smith’s office and found out it has been shut down.
Smith isn’t facing criminal charges at this time.
