Mount Holly man charged with child abuse

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia police arrested a Mount Holly man accused of abusing a two-month old baby, our news partners at the Gaston Gazette reported.

P.J. Lorenzo Smith was charged Saturday morning with misdemeanor child abuse.

Smith was carrying the baby by the arm, leg and neck and shook the infant, witnesses told police.

The baby spit up blood, according to reports.

Smith is being held on $50,000 bond.
