BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. — A mother has been charged with murder months after the remains of her 15-month-old daughter were found at a family member’s property in Tennessee.
A grand jury indicted Megan Boswell on 19 charges, including felony murder and child abuse in the death of her daughter, Evelyn Mae Boswell.

An Amber Alert was issued for the toddler on Feb. 19, although she hadn’t been seen since Dec. 26, 2019, according to officials.
Authorities searched for the girl for 17 days across three states, including North Carolina before finding her remains on a family member’s property in Blountville, Tennessee in March.
Boswell has been in jail since Feb. 25 when she was arrested on a charge of filing a false report. Authorities said her inaccurate and conflicting statements had impeded on their investigation.
She initially told state investigators that Evelyn was with the child’s father, Ethan Perry, according to court documents from her arraignment. But Perry is stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and did not have Evelyn.
Boswell later said her mother, Angela Boswell, took her daughter to a campground in Mendota, Virginia, not far from Tennessee’s Sullivan County. Authorities searched multiple campgrounds in that area and found no sign of the girl, officials said.
Boswell is due back in court on Aug. 28.
