CHARLOTTE — A mother of two children at an east Charlotte apartment complex said they have been without water for five days.

Others have had the same problem and said it needs to be fixed.

Shavonne Wingster and her children live at Woodfield Gardens Apartments.

“It’s terrible,” Wingster said. “You can’t flush the toilet.”

On Friday, she said the complex sent a letter to tenants saying a construction team was working on water lines to the neighborhood pool. ThIS would require the water to be shut off for 15 to 20 minutes.

But Wingster said they have not had water since Friday.

“I have two children in there that I have to wash, I have to feed, I have to cook for,” she said. “I can’t cook without water.”

Another tenant who did not want to be identified said his water was back on Tuesday, but he had to complain about it.

“Last night, I had to argue with these guys about getting my water cut on,” he told Channel 9.

Workers in the management office did not have a comment Tuesday.

Residents are hoping for a quick resolution.
