MOORESVILLE, N.C. — UPDATE: Authorities arrested Ellis Trovon Moore, police said Tuesday night.
Police are searching for a man in connection with two armed robberies in Mooresville.
The first happened at 3:07 a.m. at Liberty Rushco on Brawley School Road. A witness told police a black man entered the store, demanded money from the register and left in an older model white vehicle with a dark-colored roof.
While police were investigating the first robbery, another robbery happened at 4:35 a.m. at the Shell Quality Mart on West Plaza Drive. Officers responded and determined the second robbery happened with the same person and vehicle.
A vehicle matching the description was found on Highway 21 near North Carolina Route 150. Officers attempted to stop the car, but the driver fled and eluded officers.
Police identified the man as Ellis Trovon Moore, of Davison. They issued warrants for two counts of armed robbery.
