MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Mooresville mansion that went under contract just days after being listed for sale at nearly $8 million is now sold. And it set a record for being the Charlotte region’s most expensive residential transaction.

The Iredell County home on the shores of Lake Norman sold for $7.5 million on Friday.

Canopy Realtor Association confirmed on Monday that, to date, the $7.5 million residential transaction is the most expensive home sale recorded in Canopy Multiple Listing Service within the 16-county Charlotte region.

Josh Tucker, managing broker at HM Properties' Lake Norman office, was the listing agent for the home on Tennessee Circle. Victoria Speer of Coldwell Banker Realty is listed as representing the buyer in the deal.

HM Properties said it is under a nondisclosure agreement and couldn’t disclose the buyer’s name.

A social-media post, however, provides clues that a star Carolina Panthers player could be connected to the sale. Olivia Culpo — a model and the girlfriend of Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey — posted a photo on Instagram Monday afternoon that showed her posing with McCaffrey in front of the home.
