MONROE, N.C. — Monroe police have arrested a man weeks after they said a shooting victim died after showing up at a local hospital.

Officers responded to Union Atrium at around 8 a.m. on Aug. 8 where they found 25-year-old Desha Franklin being treated for a gunshot wound. Franklin was flown to a hospital in Charlotte, where they died.

Investigators determined the shooting happened on South Johnson Street near Maple Street.
