Mixed-use development proposed for 182 acres in University City area

CHARLOTTE — Wilmington-based real estate developer Tribute Cos. recently submitted plans to rezone more than 180 acres in Charlotte’s University City area for a massive mixed-use project.

Tribute, according to city of Charlotte planning records, would develop a 182-acre site near Galloway and John Adams roads into an integrated residential community with single-family and multifamily housing, a school and a park.

Tribute Cos. filed the petition on March 17 to rezone eight parcels from residential to mixed-use.
