CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fast-changing part of north Charlotte may soon see more development.
WSB Retail Partners, a real estate firm based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, has filed a rezoning petition for a 49.8-acre site between Prosperity Church and Johnston Oehler roads. Plans call for up to 300 apartments, 72 for-sale townhouses and 145,000 square feet of commercial space.
The site is mostly undeveloped today, except for some single-family homes.
Daniel Senden, managing principal at WSB, said the plan is to include a mix of housing, neighborhood retail and services, and some office space as part of the project. WSB Retail previously developed a Walmart Neighborhood Market in Fort Mill, making the proposed Prosperity Village project its second in the area.
