CHARLOTTE — A massive site in University City near West W.T. Harris Boulevard is primed for a big overhaul, according to plans recently filed with the city of Charlotte.

Accesso Partners, which acquired the Innovation Park office development last year for $270 million with majority owner Partners Group, has filed a rezoning petition to allow new construction and mixed-use development around the existing buildings.
Plans call for up to 3.4 million square feet of total space, including existing development and as many as 1,450 multifamily units, 175 hotel rooms and 35,000 square feet of retail space, in addition to office development. The land where new development is proposed is largely surface parking for the office park.
