Mixed-use development in Matthews set for key hearing

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Charlotte-based developer Pappas Properties has been working for months to secure rezoning approval for its marquee mixed-use project proposal in Matthews. The approvals process is reaching a critical juncture in the coming days and weeks.

The site is being targeted by Pappas Properties for a project named Santé Matthews, which includes a mix of residential and commercial uses. The planning board makes recommendations on rezoning requests to the town’s board of commissioners, which has final authority on the matter.
