CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The team behind a mixed-income residential development in uptown Charlotte yesterday marked the groundbreaking for that project. Local housing developer Laurel Street and the Little Rock Community Development Corp. are working together on the newly named Varick on 7th apartment project.

As CBJ reported back in September, the project will deliver 105 apartments, nearly half of which will be income restricted. The site is at the corner of East Seventh and North Alexander streets, adjacent to the Little Rock Cultural Center and just a few blocks from a Lynx Blue Line light-rail station.
