CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In his 17 years working at Piedmont Middle School, literacy facilitator David Milligan has watched former students go on to accomplish great things after graduating.
Over the last several months, Milligan has worked with the school’s PTSA to honor these students and hopefully inspire current ones by creating the Piedmont “Wall of Fame.”
“I wanted a way to celebrate them. I wanted to have something here at Piedmont that our current students can look at, and they can aspire to do some of those awesome things,” Milligan told Channel 9 education reporter Elsa Gillis.
The wall’s first three inductees were recently unveiled and include a former Charlotte mayor; a former teacher and principal; and a school resource officer who passed away in August.
