CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Changes could soon be coming to an old Charlotte racetrack.

The Charlotte City Council voted Monday night to rezone the former Metrolina Speedway site to allow industrial uses.
In 2009, the area plan called for retail at the site, but that assumed the property would be a viable entertainment district at this point and those plans never came to fruition.
