UNION COUNTY, N.C. — While country star Randy Travis was in the hospital Tuesday, his brother, David Traywick, was in the Union County Jail according to police.

Eyewitness News was there Tuesday night as investigators searched a home on Fountain Hill Church Road. They removed evidence after they said Traywick, 50, his wife Jessica and two other women were arrested.

The Union County Sheriff's Office said it found a one-pot meth lab inside.

"There is always some danger involved with these meth labs, from the fumes and that sort of thing," said Capt. Ronnie Whitaker with the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Police said they know Traywick not just because of his brother, but also because of a previous arrest.

"He has pending charges for the same thing, from about a year ago," said Whitaker.

Neighbors did not want to show their faces on camera or share their names, but they told Eyewitness News that they hope Traywick's family will step in to help him.

"They say they don't associate with him, but something needs to be done," said one neighbor.

Police said they stepped in quickly to clean up the meth lab and that it was not a danger to the people who live nearby. Still, that didn't make neighbors Eyewitness News spoke with feel any better.

"They say meth labs can blow up," said one neighbor. "You just don't know what could happen."

Traywick is charged with conspiracy to traffic meth. He is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.

Neighbors did not want to show their faces on camera or share their names, but they told Eyewitness News that they hope Traywick's family will step in to help him.
