CHARLOTTE — An American Airlines employee at Charlotte Douglas International Airport was killed Monday morning in an accident involving an airline ramp vehicle, officials said.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the employee’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” airport officials said in a news release.
Airport chaplains are available on-site.
“We are devastated by the accident involving a team member at Charlotte International Airport (CLT),” officials with American Airlines said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and our local team members. We are focused on ensuring that all involved have the support they need during this difficult time.”
The ramp vehicle was the only vehicle involved, officials said. The victim’s name has not been released.
No additional details have been made available. Channel 9 is asking officials for more information.
