CHARLOTTE — A dispute between people living at a home in east Charlotte late Thursday night led to a shooting that injured four people, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in an update Friday morning.
The quadruple shooting happened at about 11 p.m. at a house on Purple Thistle Lane in a neighborhood off Harrisburg Road.
MEDIC said three of those people were taken to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries, and a fourth patient is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was one of the injured, police said.
According to police records, seven children live in the home along with two teenagers and six adults.
CMPD said they have been called to the residence multiple times over the past few days.
Early Monday morning, around 12:24 a.m., there was a domestic disturbance call made. Around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning, a call was made regarding an unknown person shooting into the residence, according to police.
Around 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning, police received reports about threats being made inside the home. This call was followed up by the shooting of four people at the home late Thursday night.
Channel 9′s Glenn Counts spoke with residents who said their neighborhood is normally quiet.
“I don’t know what may have caused it. I don’t know what was going on. I would hope it was an out-of-the-blue thing,” said resident Justin Walter.
The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing. However, no other suspects are expected in this case.
