CHARLOTTE — One person was killed in a drug-related shooting at a north Charlotte apartment complex Thursday, police confirmed.
It happened around 2 p.m. on Tanager Park Drive at the Ivy Hollow apartments. The complex is not far from Interstate 77 and Sunset Road.
The victim was found in a car in the parking lot, police said. Paramedics took him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department later confirmed he died from his injuries at the hospital.
Neighbors said they are worried about their safety.

“It made me concerned about living in Charlotte,” Deneisha Brown said.
“It’s just hard living here, period. You never know what’s going to happen ... lost two brothers and both of them was the same way, a drug deal gone wrong,” she added.
The nearby Charlotte-Mecklenburg Academy was placed on lockdown for a few minutes while police conducted their investigation.
