CHARLOTTE — A man is in custody after someone was hurt in a shootout on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Officials say the shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Wingate Drive near Freedom Drive.
MEDIC took one person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the shooting was related to a drug deal.
Police said they charged Zephaniah Baker with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
No further information was released.
