MATTHEWS, N.C. — There is an effort in Matthews to add more affordable housing.
On Tuesday night, town leaders, community members and panelists talked about their options to help families that need housing.
"When you think about what it cost to live here in Mecklenburg County and Matthews proper, someone would have to work 90 hours a week at minimum wage jobs to afford an apartment," panelist Natisha Rivera-Patrick said.
